Enforces Settings on Virtualized Applications and VPN Connections for Security and Compliance
BOSTON, July, 30, 2009 -- FullArmor, the software + services company for enterprise system and endpoint management, today announced that GPAnywhere was selected as a runner-up in the Group Policy Management category of the WindowSecurity.com Readers’ Choice Awards. WindowSecurity.com is the leading independent resource site for Windows Security professionals.
Group Policy is a Microsoft technology used by IT administrators to help secure and configure Windows-based servers, desktops and laptops. With Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008, there are over 2400 Group Policy settings, but they were not designed to work with virtualized applications or across VPN connections. FullArmor GPAnywhere extends the reach of Group Policy so that these settings can be dynamically applied to virtual applications and VPN connections. Specifically, when Microsoft Application Virtualization launches or a VPN connection is initiated, GPAnywhere processes the policy for that application and applies it.
WindowSecurity.com conducts monthly polls to discover which product is preferred by Network Security administrators in a particular category of third party solutions. The awards draw a huge response per category and are based entirely on the visitors’ votes. WindowSecurity.com visitors can submit their votes for the current Readers' Award poll in the site’s left-hand bar.
“Being recognized by in-the-trenches Windows security professionals is an honor for us and speaks volumes about the value provided by GPAnywhere,” says Danny Kim, CTO for FullArmor Corp. “Until now, IT departments have been unable to apply Group Policy settings to virtualized applications and VPN connections, since they are disconnected from Active Directory. GPAnywhere removes this barrier and enables organizations to seamlessly apply and enforce corporate security standards on all the resources in their network.”
